KINGSTON, N.Y. — The Cornell Agriculture Marketing Research Program (CAMRP), in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE), is pleased to announce a new two-part farm marketing workshop series aimed at enhancing the marketing and pricing strategies of farmers selling directly to consumers.
The workshop will be hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Ulster County on April 15, 2025, at the CCE Ulster Office, 232 Plaza Rd., Kingston, NY 12401. It will cover two topics, both apply to livestock producers selling meat directly to consumers, while the second part will also appeal to dairy, egg, fruit and vegetable producers and those selling any farm product at a farmers’ market. Each session requires separate registration at a cost of $15 per workshop.
Participants are welcome to attend one or both sessions.
Workshops Details
The first session, “Creating and Pricing Consumer-Friendly Meat with MeatSuite,” will take place on April 15, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the CCE Ulster Office. This session will introduce participants to MeatSuite, an online platform that connects farmers in New York and North Carolina with consumers seeking locally sourced meat. The workshop will feature a demonstration of MeatSuite’s new Bundle Builder, a tool designed to help farmers create and price appealing bulk meat bundles to attract and retain customers. Participants will learn how to make bulk sales more approachable for first-time buyers, improve customer engagement, and increase sales. The second session, “Farmers Market Sales Data – Leveraging Customer Experience and Pricing to Improve Sales,” will be held on the same day from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the CCE Ulster Office. This session will present key findings from Cornell’s research on customer spending patterns and pricing strategies at farmers’ markets. Attendees will gain actionable insights into increasing customer spending and improving sales performance across various product categories, including meat, dairy, eggs, fruits, and vegetables. The session will provide practical strategies to strengthen customer experience and enhance profitability.
