SPOKANE, Wash. — AgWest Farm Credit, a leading financial institution serving the agricultural industry, is proud to announce the recipients of its annual scholarship program. This year, 131 students across AgWest’s seven-state service territory have been awarded a total of $327,500 in scholarships.
“We are committed to investing in the future of agriculture by supporting talented and dedicated students,” said Mark Littlefield, CEO of AgWest Farm Credit, as he expressed his enthusiasm for the program. “These scholarships not only recognize academic achievement but also encourage careers in the agriculture sector, helping our rural communities thrive.”
Each student qualified for one of the following scholarship offerings and will receive a $2,500 award to support their educational pursuits.
Championing Agriculture Scholarship
This scholarship encourages future leaders in agriculture and is awarded to current college students enrolled in a university or other post-secondary institution or vocational program within AgWest Farm Credit’s service territory. Recipients intend to obtain a degree or certificate and pursue a career path related to the agriculture sector.
Customer Scholarship
This scholarship is dedicated to enhancing educational pursuits across various fields. Qualified customers and dependents of customers are eligible for these scholarships. Recipients are graduating high school seniors and college students attending any post-secondary institution or vocational program.
Employee Scholarship
This scholarship reflects AgWest’s commitment to supporting employees’ families by investing in their education. Awarded to sons or daughters of AgWest employees, recipients are graduating high school seniors and college students attending any post-secondary institution or vocational program.
