GREENWICH, N.Y. — Spring is just around the corner, and that means it’s time for one of New York’s most delicious traditions—Maple Weekends! Join us as we celebrate the magic of pure New York maple syrup on March 22-23 and March 29-30, 2025. Hosted by the New York State Maple Producers Association and proudly funded by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, this event invites families, friends, and maple lovers of all ages to experience the sweetness of spring firsthand.
More than 20 maple producers in the Upper Hudson region are opening their doors to share the sights, smells, and tastes of freshly made maple syrup. It’s the perfect way to spend a weekend—watching sap transform into golden syrup, tasting warm maple products right from the source, and learning about the tradition that has been part of New York’s heritage for generations.
Maple Weekends aren’t just about syrup; they’re about making sweet memories! Whether you’re enjoying a steamy pancake breakfast drizzled with real maple syrup, sampling maple-infused treats, or taking in the cozy atmosphere of a working sugarhouse, there’s something for everyone. Plus, it’s a great way to support local farmers and small businesses while experiencing an authentic New York agricultural tradition.
Activities vary by location, but here are a few fun things you may experience:
- Live demonstrations of the maple sugaring process—from tree to table!
- Mouthwatering samples of fresh maple syrup, candies, and more.
- Family-friendly fun, from sugarhouse tours to hands-on learning opportunities.
- Local maple products available for purchase, so you can bring home the taste of New York.
- Delicious pancake breakfasts and other food offerings
Tips for Visitors: Sugarhouses are often rustic and located in the great outdoors, so be sure to dress for the weather! Early spring can be muddy, so we recommend layered clothing and closed-toed shoes for a comfortable experience.
Come out this March and indulge in the taste of fresh maple syrup, discover a new favorite maple treat, and enjoy a fun-filled adventure with your family and friends!
