BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Three of the nine migrant farmworkers detained at a Franklin County farm last month have now been deported to Mexico, according to the group Migrant Justice.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection says they encountered the workers at the Pleasant Valley Farm in Enosburgh while responding to a separate call about suspicious activity near the border.
The owners of the farm insist the workers were hired following state and federal regulations.
The group says four remain in custody in Vermont, one in New Hampshire, and one in Louisiana.
